Tompkins
Scare Park is a new Halloween festival
launched in 2006 in Tompkins
Square Park in the East Village of Manhattan.
In
the center of the downtown arts community, in
a neighborhood where it is Halloween every day,
Tompkins Square Park is the best place on earth
to host a Halloween festival.
Tompkins
Scare Park will happen on Saturday October 27th,
from 12 noon til 8pm and will feature many Halloween
themed arts installations, interactive activity
zones and special events that will come and
go throughout the day.
This
year, the early part of the day will be dedicated
to the “Healthy Halloween” communities project
featuring art and perfromances from over twenty
New York City public high schools and a healthy
& educational “Trick or Treat Trail”.
Later in the day, expect musicians, performance
artists and NYC's most unique people who will
be coming out in style. As darkness falls, there
will be a multi-media haunting of the park as
NYC prepares for the most colorful night of
the year.
Tompkins Square Park islocated in New York City's East Village between 7th and 10th Streets and Avenues A and B. Take the L train to the First Avenue stop or the F or V trains to the Second Avenue stop.
